Designed in a coastal contemporary style, this comprehensive renovation completely reimagines the organization of a two-story residence to better support family life and strengthen the connection to the outdoors. The home's primary living spaces were relocated from the second floor to the ground level, creating direct access to the lanai, pool, and outdoor entertaining areas. The new layout allows the homeowners to enjoy everyday living while maintaining a constant connection to family activities and Maui's year-round indoor-outdoor lifestyle.
The former primary suite was relocated to the upper level, where it benefits from enhanced privacy and elevated views. A redesigned staircase reduced the footprint of the original stairwell, reclaiming valuable floor area for the dining space and improving circulation throughout the home. Expansive folding glass doors, matching window walls, and an open floor plan flood the interior with natural light, creating a relaxed, airy environment that seamlessly blends modern living with the warmth and character of Hawaiian architecture.
