This extensive renovation transformed a late-1980s residence into a light-filled contemporary home designed around ocean views and indoor-outdoor living. The main floor was reconfigured to improve circulation, relocating the kitchen and dining areas adjacent to the lanai to strengthen the connection between the interior and outdoor living spaces. Enlarged windows maximize natural light and capture expansive Pacific views, while the primary suite was redesigned for improved comfort and functionality. An existing enclosed carport was converted into a private guest suite complete with a kitchenette and bathroom.
The design embraces a contemporary architectural language with clean lines, simple forms, and a restrained material palette. New arched openings reinterpret traditional island architecture, while expansive glazing, floating staircases, and frameless glass railings create an open, airy composition that keeps the focus on the surrounding landscape and reinforces the home's connection to its extraordinary setting.
