DAYTON COMMUNITY FOOD PANTRY & CLOTHES CLOSET
Location
Dayton, Oregon
Project type
Community / Nonprofit Facility
Scope
New Community Facility, Programming, Architectural Design
Status
Completed (2026)
Designed for a local nonprofit organization, this new community facility brings together a food pantry and clothing closet under one roof, creating an efficient and welcoming resource for families in need. Close collaboration with the client and contractor throughout the design process ensured the project met both the organization's operational needs and its construction budget.
The building was carefully planned to support two distinct programs while providing intuitive circulation for volunteers and visitors. Large clerestory windows introduce abundant natural daylight throughout the interior, creating bright, inviting spaces while reducing daytime energy use.
A contemporary Northwest design, expressed through clean roof lines, exposed timber columns, and durable, cost-effective materials, delivers a warm and welcoming presence while maintaining long-term value for the nonprofit organization.
